You were not able to assist to Mobile World Congress 2013? Don’t worry, we were there to bring you all the news around M2M technology at the event. We saw how it can be useful in developing countries, what is the status of connected cars, which were the prizewinner innovations and which business models the Internet of Things makes possible. We were also able to catch some M2M interesting innovations, which we recorded in a series of short videos.

Let’s start with Telefónica’s solutions, which were constantly being demoed at our stand. Insurance Telematics was one of our star solutions, aimed to reduce operative costs and avoid fraud.

Thinking Things are the modules that our team have designed to provide quick connectivity to almost any object and place.

And, to end with our demos, you can see here how a device can make IMSI swap in a few seconds, changing from one operator to another with no need of roaming, thanks to the solution empowered by the global M2M multi-operator Alliance.

This motorbike sharing solution tells the customers where is the nearest vehicle to rent and allows them to start the engine with their own NFC smartphone.

With Wipro fetal monitoring, a pregnant woman can be monitored in real time by her doctor in order to avoid complications.

Libelium brought to MWC a whole smart city solution to monitor the processes in an urban environment.

With Fujitsu’s smart cane, old people will be guided in the street, which will avoid lost risks. Furthermore, it can monitor their pulsations and make an emergency call is something goes wrong.

Sooner or later, all home devices will be controlled by a smartphone. This coffeemaker is just an example by Qualcomm.
