Thinking Things showcased in WIRED 2012: endless posibilities
Friday, 26 October 2012
Yesterday, I was at WIRED 2012, an amazing event organized by Wired magazine in which speakers and attendees explore the ideas and technological innovations that are reshaping our world.
It was the perfect moment for me to showcase Thinking Things, a simple solution currently under development, which will connect almost any device wirelessly to the Internet.
The small stand of Thinking Things in the event was packed with people interested in this idea. Thinking Things expands the realm of M2M outside its use in enterprises, “democratizing” this technology for the final user.
Attendees were enthusiastic with the possibility of enabling the customers with no abilities in electronics nor programming to create their own M2M solution both for their home and business in an easy, feasible and fast way.
And, of course, the M2M implementations should run everywhere, seamlessly, something where Telefónica excels through its network. When people approached asking “Is this Wi-Fi?” and I said “no, it uses mobile networks”, it was great to see so many jaws dropping.
